Insuring Your Toys

As winter fades to Spring, most of us are eager to bring our toys out to play. Whether it be our classic car, boat, RV, or off road vehicle, we just can’t wait to hear that engine purr again. However, before cranking that engine, have you considered if you have enough coverage on your toys to play with peace of mind.

Here are 3 things to consider before waking your toys from their winter sleep.

1. How You Use Them:

Depending on where you use your toys, the insurance you need may vary. Do you use your boat in a small body of water or large? Freshwater or saltwater? Is your bike used for racing or recreation or commuting? Do you plan to live in your RV or use in occasionally? How you use your toy can significantly affect the insurance you need.

2. Hit All of the Bases:

Make sure you and your toy is covered from head to toe. Do you travel long distances with your boat? You may consider roadside assistance. What about your trailer? Is it covered? Do you take passengers with you on your motorcycle? They need extra coverage. What about if you were to have an accident in your RV, would the damages be covered? Consider every piece of insurance you may need.

3. Additions:

The longer you have your toy, the more add-ons you may inquire. Although you’ve had insurance for your toys for years now, consider being reevaluated to ensure your coverage is up-to-date. Things to consider would include, toys you use while boating (e.g. wakeboard, fishing pole), tools you keep on your RV, your helmet and protective gear for your motorcycle.
